About Us

The DBA Services Team We’ve put specialist SQL Server DBAs within the reach of any business.

Our DBAs bring together years of industry experience in the management of enterprise-scale database infrastructures such as Dominos, Navman, Super Retail Group, QSuper and Qantas - applying the same advanced systems of SQL Server administration as used by some of the world’s largest financial institutions, and implemented into each of our managed SQL Services clients, both large and small.

Engaging our services has also been greatly simplified. Aside from the obvious (remote access), we work closely with our client's existing infrastructure support teams and in-house DBAs, to become a natural extension to their support capabilities - with the added benefit of a 24*7*365 DBA business that can also take care of your out-of-hours support needs.

Sia Shamsai – DBA Services Founder

About the Founder Sia Shamsai

Over the past 20 years I've worked with businesses such as Dominos, QSuper, Qantas, Super Retail Group and many others to ensure that their SQL infrastructures are correctly designed, configured, monitored, performance tuned and maintained using industry best practice methodologies, and a focus on recoverability and DR solutions that meet or even exceed the business' requirements for RTO and RPO.

With a passion for SQL Server performance tuning, and more recently diving into big data analytics and business intelligence systems, my mission for DBA Services has always been to provide businesses of any size or SQL Server complexity, with a cost-effective solution for accessing the same specialist SQL Server skillset and technologies for their business, as used by some of Australia's largest SQL infrastructures.

DBA Services has grown to become an internationally recognised provider of SQL database administration services, supporting businesses all over the world (UK, China, US, Europe, New Zealand and across Australia) with a core philosophy and corporate culture to always fully own any issues which may be underpinned by a SQL Server, and work closely along side our clients and their support teams to see problems through to resolution.

What Sets Us Apart

At DBA Services, we understand how crucial your SQL Server is, and that protecting and monitoring it can be costly, especially for a growing business. This is where DBA Services comes in. We serve as a natural extension of your existing IT team, protecting your SQL server infrastructure, but at a fraction of the cost of a full-time DBA.

DBA Solutions

We’ve looked after some of the most operationally intensive SQL server infrastructures and have the knowledge and experience to get the right solutions in place to help your business achieve its outcomes. Our agentless monitoring and alerting systems leverage SQL Server’s native capabilities to communicate issues, then are automatically triaged and escalated as required by our in-house SQL response systems.

No Lock-in Contracts, Complete Transparency, Detailed Reporting

We've made our remote DBA support and Managed SQL Server services even more accessible with simplified engagement models that allows you to protect your SQL Servers from as little as 2hrs per month.

With comprehensive work reports, detailed out in 15 minute billable increments (no 1hr minimum), your business only ever pays for the support it needs.

Full Ownership, Complete Responsibility

Our team takes full ownership and responsibility for the care of your SQL Servers. We take SQL service failures very personally (in the healthiest way possible that is) and work very hard not to ever have any of our managed SQL servers “drop the ball”. Our monitoring is designed to keep our fingers on the pulse of your SQL servers, with our proactive reviews specifically geared at catching emerging issues before they impact your business.

So if you’re looking for a DBA that genuinely cares about the quality of work they provide (and not just end up as another ticket in a support queue), then come and have a obligation-free chat with us today!
